Transition commode attributed to François Reizell

DESCRIPTION +

Transition commode with three drawers. White marlbe tablet. Ormolu bronzes. Tulipwood and tainted wood veneer and inlay work. Decorated with several musical instruments and written partitions, a couple of birds, and flower bouqets.

François Reizell was a german cabinetmaker who lived and worked in Paris. Recieved Master on the 26th february 1764. He delivered many pieces of furniture to the prince de Condé, for the château de Chantilly and more palaces.

This commode is presented in the company of a secretary desk signed by François Reizell. Both pieces of furniture show many similarities in style as well as decor.
