Louis XV sloping desk in Vernis Martin, stamped by Adrien Delorme

Delorme
Sloping desk in red and gold Vernis Martin. Veneered with kingwood and marquetry of satinwood, stained maple, and ebonized wood. Ornamented with finely chased and gilded bronze mounts from the Louis XV period. The fall-front decorated with a stag hunting scene, revealing three drawers and two secret compartments with floral decoration. The shaped apron is decorated with birds and landscapes, and the piece rests on cabriole legs.
Adrien Faizelot-Delorme, French cabinetmaker, received Master status in 1748 and established his workshop on Rue du Temple in Paris.
