DESCRIPTION +

The front and sides are adorned with a sumptuous floral marquetry design in stained wood set against a rosewood background, depicting rich, stylised bouquets, harmoniously integrated into the front within three cartouches with rocaille-style borders and framed in violet wood.
The piece rests on four curved legs finished with chiselled and gilded bronze feet.
The bronze ornamentation is of great finesse, finely chiselled and gilded, adorning the apron with its beautiful foliage motif of openwork scrolls, the beak-shaped pull handles decorated with star-shaped foliage, the lock plates with scroll-like floral motifs, and the gracefully cascading drops on the side panels.
The top is crowned with a fine Flemish marble in the shape of a corbin’s beak, curved across the entire surface to follow the sinuous line of the piece.
This type of composition, both in the quality of the marquetry and in the form and ornamentation, allows for attribution to Pierre Migeon (1696–1758), supplier to the court and the great aristocratic families under Louis XV.
