The upper section is adorned with a rich scroll motif and a large, very finely worked shell in the centre of each pane. The lower central section also features a finely chiselled and openwork shell.
This lantern is suspended by five arms in the form of consoles and inverted consoles, with scrolls in three sections.
The central shaft is divided into five light arms, each topped with an inverted pine cone. The lamp holders and lampshades remain very simple.
A French piece from the Louis XV period, in its original gilding.
