An architecturally shaped mahogany chest of drawers, resting on a rectangular base and featuring four box drawers at the front.
The drawers are lined with dark brown leather, delicately embellished with gilded piping and friezes, and adorned with circular gilded bronze pull knobs. A concealed drawer is fitted within the top panel. Push-to-open mechanism
The front and sides are highlighted by finely chiselled gilded bronze mouldings, with fluted square column-style uprights. The upper band is delicately adorned with a gilded bronze frieze featuring a satyr’s head
The top is adorned with an inlaid Carrara marble panel, encircled by an openwork gilded bronze gallery.
The elegance and high-quality craftsmanship of this card cabinet make it a piece attributed to Bernard Molitor (master cabinetmaker in 1787).
It embodies all the quality and finesse of this great cabinetmaker. A rare distinction and masterful restraint.
